Jimmy Patterson is an award-winning journalist and author. He is the author of A History of Character: The Story of Midland, Texas, and is currently coauthoring a series of children’s books with Midland businessman and storyteller Jim Henry. Jimmy was the editor of the West Texas Angelus for twelve years and has received distinctive honors for his investigative reporting on Syrian refugees.

Karen J. Patterson is a professional photographer. After a twenty-year career in the federal court system, she studied photography at Midland College and then opened her own photography business. Karen and Jimmy have been married for thirty-three years and have three grown children and two grandchildren.
